Overview

Weirdo by Design LLC is looking for a motivated and well-rounded Design Intern to join our small, global (remote) design studio. This role is an opportunity to contribute to graphic and web design projects for a range of clients.

You'll work closely with our interdisciplinary project teams to develop creative concepts, support production efforts, and deliver compelling digital experiences.

Weirdo supports Work From Anywhere. This is a fully-remote 3-month internship that requires 32 hours per week. We are looking for teammates who can at least overlap 2 hours with our primary business hours (9am through 5pm Eastern Time, Monday through Thursday).

About the Role

Your responsibilities

• Deliver design mocks, decks, prototypes, and visual assets
• Collaborate with designers, developers, producers, and stakeholders to execute on projects
• Critique and iterate on design concepts with other team members
• Provide precise production support (e.g. resizing, tweaking, and optimizing images; preparing files for printing; generating batches of assets)
• Professionally communicate with clients
• Manage timelines and expectations
• Work quickly and efficiently
• Be an integral part of our small team!

Timeline and budget

• The internship is a 12-week period, with flexible start date in early July 2022
• This is a 32h per week remote contract position that is paid at $25/h

What we're looking for...

• Strong visual communicator, with a proficiency in use of layouts, color, and typography
• Experience with both digital and print outputs
• Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Powerpoint
• Familiarity with Google Suite, Dropbox, and Notion
• Pro-active communicator and doer willing to roll up their sleeves
• Attention to detail and care for what we work on, and whom we work with

Bonus points if...

• You have experience working in an agency setting or in a client-facing position
• You have experience with copywriting, illustration, motion design, or web development
• You bring experience from outside of design that enriches your perspective as a designer

Founded by Michael Suen, Weirdo by Design has grown into a small collective of designers, developers, and other digital practitioners around the world.
